We understand most people don't have a soft tape measure. We have a solution! Grab some string or ribbon Measure approximately 30" or 76cm so you have enough for even the largest of dogs. Use this like a tape measure and mark the end measurement with your fingers Measure it! Extend the metal tape measure out to 30" to 76cm and lock the tape. After you've marked your measurement, lay it flat next to the tape and read the length of your measurement. Write it down and repeat same steps for collar measurement Measurement Tips A- Length should be taken when the dog is standing or sitting. Do not take the measurement when your dog is laying down. This will give a length that is too short. B- Collar measurements should be taken up higher, around the dogs natural neck line, not low or loose. The measurement should be snug allowing a 1-2 finger give underneath. Read more Healing ALL styles of Ears The No Flap Ear Wrap can be used on dogs with Upright, Drop, Rose, Tulip, Hound, Flying, Button and Semi-Upright ears. Keeping the ears from flapping is critical when healing ear injuries or ailments such a hematomas and vasculitis. We have many GSD’s, Chihuahuas, Frenchie’s, Australian Cattle Dogs, etc. that have Upright Ears that have used it during recovery. When the wrap is applied we advise that ears of all “styles” rest naturally, unless otherwise directed by your veterinarian. For upright ears, the wrap is placed on the head and the ears fold forward comfortably. Drop Ears and Hound Ears Drop Ears and Hound Ears Our wraps are designed to stop the flapping from the head out. If they can't flap those long gorgeous ears they can't draw the blood to the ear tips. With the long eared breeds, their ears are likely to not be completely contained in the side pockets of our wraps, but rest assured even if the long ear tips hang out a bit, they still can't get the momentum going that will draw the blood into the compromised tissue or through the possible ear tip injury. Ear position concerns? If you are concerned about your dog's ears laying flat while healing, please consult your veterinarian. The wrap is not a compression bandage, but rather a recovery device that keeps the ears from flapping. It is fitted, but not as tight as wrapped gauze and bandaging around the head. We defer to your vet as they know your dog best! Upright Ears For upright ears, the wrap is placed on the head and the ears fold forward naturally, comfortably. Jack Russell "Flying" Dachshund "Hound" American Bulldog "Drop"" Doberman "Upright" Common uses for the No Flap Ear Wrap HEMATOMA HEALING The most common cause of an ear hematoma in dogs is an ear infection or other irritation within the ear. Ear infections cause irritation to the ear, resulting in shaking of the head which in turn causes the development of the hematoma which, in many cases, requires painful surgery and lengthy healing. NFEW improves the comfort of the healing process and protects tender ears. Our Pinpoint Mesh material is recommended. EAR INFECTIONS Chronic ear infections can lead to permanent alterations in the anatomy of a dogs ear, making future infections more likely and more difficult to treat. Using NFEW in conjunction with medication prescribed by your veterinarian helps speed up recovery time and prevent dogs from inflicting more damage due to irritation. CHEAT-GRASS PREVENTION Whether you call them awns, mean seeds, timothy, foxtails, cheat grass, June grass, Downy Brome, or any other number of colloquial names, to dogs they generally mean one thing, and that's trouble...those sharp ends allow the awn to penetrate into and through the skin and tissues of a dog. Our Denim material is recommended .
