Grass is completely indigestible to cats so why do they eat it? Scientists believe that in the wild cats will ingest grass to help them pass or throw up the indigestible parts of pray, like hair and teeth, which protects their digestive system from blockages. You may notice that your cat eats grass and then very soon after vomits. This is to help regurgitate the hair they have swallowed when they clean. Some cats are over zealous and move the pot around when eating the grass, blue tack underneath or a rubber band onto a small plate will help.Remember cats will eat grass when they experience digestive upset so if your cat doesn't eat the grass all the time or right away that is a sign that their digestion is good but we recommend having grass available for when they need it.
