6 Important Parameters That You Need to Know pH A pH value between 6.5 and 8.5 will be tolerated by most freshwater fish species. Total Alkalinity 40-120 mg/l is normal. Nitrite NO2 in concentrations greater than 1 mg/L is harmful to your fish if present for extended periods. Free Chlorine Chlorine is harmful to fish, damaging their gills and skin, and must not be introduced to the aquarium. - DETECTION STEPS: 1. Tear off the sealing film, take out a test paper and close the bottle. 2. Dip the reaction area into the solution, hold it for 1-2s, then take out and remove the excess water. 3. After waiting for 1 min, compare the reaction area with the color card on the bottle to determine the test value of the solution to be tested. (Note: colorimetric time control within 60s is the best, the time is too long or too short affect the accuracy of the reading.)
- PLEASE NOTE - 1. When removing the test paper, do not touch the reaction area of the test paper to avoid to affect the test results; 2. For the liquid to be tested with too dark color, it can be dehydrated by activated carbon adsorption before the test; for the turbid liquid to be tested, it is recommended to stand for a period of time and extract the clear part for testing after precipitation.
